What is rateURtrick?
rateURtrick is the first website of its kind that allows you to share your experiences with the person or people you are hooking up with. Unfortunately, there are some people out there that come to you for one thing, to rip you off. Given certain situations, like partying, many in the gay community are afraid of going to the police to report and explain the theft so these people keep on going until caught. By creating your profile on this site, you have the ability to rate them in a myriad of categories and post comments about them. On another note, perhaps you found someone who really was everything and more and you wanted to share your experience about them instead. This site gives you the ability to check someone out before you meet with them to give you an overall picture of what you might expect. Granted every person is looking for something different and every review is not meant to give a complete answer on your trick, but an overall perspective that you and others post. You have the ability to rate them anonymously or by your screen name you use on this and the site in which they belong.
Additionally, the site allows you to put in different screen names for people who change their names for different sites. For example, JoeinPS on Adam4Adam could also be JoeintheDesert on Manhunt. Knowing this you can link up the same person to multiple profiles so the next person who is searching can find out. The main goal of the site is the (1) ensure that the web is and continues to be a safe place in which to meet your next trick and (2) keep yourself and others honest about themselves because we have all experienced, at least once, someone who shows up at your door, and is dramatically different than his posting and (3) if you think someone is really worth checking out, maybe for a sex party or three way, you could and we deeply encourage you to post positive comments about your trick.
What are the rules?
Because we are bound my certain privacy laws, you are not allowed to name identifying information about a person other than what he has posted on each respective site. You cannot post real names, phone numbers, addresses, license plate numbers etc. Also, if you state someone has stolen something from you please be sure to fill in the entire questionnaire as you would if you were rating someone positive or else it may not be posted. You may from time to time, if you answered YES to that question, get an email from us asking you to state what it was he stole from you. That information will remain confidential and will not be given out to any third party unless we are subpoenaed and will not appear in the rating, nor will your screen names if you choose to remain private. Remember, as the poster, you are responsible for what you post. We want to ensure this remains an honest site and not a site used for bashing because one of you were turned down, etc. Thank you for understanding and helping us remain a site with honesty and integrity as well as a site to help protect the community.
How are the memberships laid out?
The site is currently free to all members.
How do I become a registered member?
Once you sign on to the system, the system will send you an activation link to the email you registered with. Click or paste that link into your browser and you will be validated as a member. At that point you can log in and begin using the system.
What are your privacy practices?
We will never disclose your personal information to anyone for any reason. Also, we do not rent, barter or sell our client list. All your information is completely protected and secure. If we are subpoenaed and are forced by law to give out any information on a member, we must comply with all laws and legal requests from any legal authority in writing.
What do I do if someone posts information about me that is false?
We operate on an honor system. Having said that, we expect our members to do the same. Unfortunately there are going to be members within the community who have nothing better to do than post hateful remarks about others just for the sake of doing so. We do have a standard we adhere to and will take every case that is reported to us based on it’s own merits. We do have the ability to check the IP address to see if the same person is creating new screen names on our site and will react accordingly. Again, we do not tolerate degrading, threatening and hateful remarks, unnecessary foul language and anything that would violate a person’s identity or rights. This system is meant to keep the playing field even for all.
What do I do if my login information does not work?
There could be a few reasons why. First make sure you received and clicked on the activation link to activate your account. Secondly, if using Internet Explorer, please make sure your security settings are not set to HIGH, sometimes that can cause you to experience difficulties. If all else fails, use the CONTACT US link and we will work to find out why and resolve the issue immediately.
Are you owned or affiliated with any other “hookup” site?
We are an independent company. We are not owned by any other site. We do have links established in both directions for most, if not all sites. We are in no way governed by any site to ensure fair ratings come from any and all sources. The logos used within the site are the complete property of their respective owners. TrickRater dba RateUrTrick does not in any way endorse any specific web site. We put the logos on our site to help you quickly and better identify the sites and allowing the owners of these sites to increase their brand recognition in geographic areas that they may not be as well known in. It also reduces the confusion when browsing through sites and just seeing name after name. However, when you click on the other website’s link, depending on the websites URL configuration, the link will take you to the profile within that website. Sometimes we can only link you to the website and you have to either create a new account or use your existing login information. We try to work with all websites and webmasters to find an easier way to link our rated profiles to their listed members. We do not get paid by any company for posting their logos.
On many sites, you will see our logo on various parts of the site, usually in the profile or email section of the person you are checking out or communicating with. If you want to check him out either before you hook up with him or rate him after you have, simply click on the link on the website.
What happens if I delete my account?
If you choose to delete your account, all information you entered into the system will be deleted and cannot be restored. Your screen name will be listed as USED and cannot be reopened. The reason for this is if someone else creates a screen name that you used to use, it can potentially create confusion for others reviewing what you originally wrote.
How can I protect my information and myself from being sued for posting information that is correct? How do you ensure the accuracy of screen names from other sites?
Once a posting is made, i.e. a rating, we then go to that respective site and do a screenshot to make sure there have been no typos and keep that on file for as long as you are a member. Typo’s happen and we want to make sure the site is 100% accurate at all times. We will verify your trick’s screen name and their profile. You are the sole publisher of the comments you post based on your experience with the other person. When we take a screenshot, we make sure all screens are captured. You do have the ability to rate someone publicly or privately, to send them an email, publicly or privately letting them know they have been rated. If you select privately, the email will come from CustomerService@rateurtrick.com and will state you have received a rating of 9/10 from ANONYMOUS on 10/10/2008.
What happens if they delete their profile?
Notify us if we haven’t already caught it and we will post a “User Deleted Profile” on your rating. Having the ability to cross reference them on different sites help you maintain in contact with them if you wish to do so.
Why are the 'tricks' not sorted by area or zip code?
We have been asked this a lot. First and foremost, you have to realize that this is not an end user hook up site. As such, when people sign on, they are not entering in their personal information and coding it to their city. Since only one unique name can be used per website, there will never be a second name within the same site, i.e. BarebackRT or Manhunt for example. That information, their location, stats etc are all entered in to the system in which they create their profile. This site is entirely different. People visit various towns, they relocate, and some just never update their account and leave it stagnant and just change their city view instead of their actual location. In order for us to make sure their city is correct would mean that we would have to go into every rating and every login (if they have not rated anyone and are simply using the website for informational purposes only, which is partly what it was intended to do) and make the change every morning. As of 12/01/08, we have approximately 3500 registered users. As you can see by the postings, a mere fraction of these members are actually posting anything and that is perfectly fine. As much as we would like more postings, all of us need to understand that this site is first and foremost meant to be used as a resource tool and posting a profile of yourself is not required, although we do have people rate themselves from time to time. And all of that is ok The site has taken off and once we complete the enhancements and release our banners out to other sites, as well as the media coverage from various weekly newspapers and monthly gay magazines nationwide, the time and effort it would take us to do that would be, well, too time consuming.
Since each name is individual per site, it doesn't make a difference where they are located for the purpose of this site. You can use the search function to look for someone either by name or by site or both. If you are looking for someone using BarebackRT, use the pulldown menu, select BarebackRT and hit enter. Everyone who has been rated from BarebackRT will come up. If you do a search on "Kinky" and hit enter, everyone with a name with "Kinky" will pull up. If you do an exact search and input the information you want, that information will come up as you typed it.
Since this is a brand new type of site, the thinking has to be changed a bit. Prior to launch the site, this was a major decision we have gone over many, many times and we have decided to keep it the way it is. This way, our staff is able to answer your emails, which remain 99% positive, usually the instant they come in, your postings are posted usually within 10-20 minutes at the most unless it is after hours and the staff or myself have gone to bed, and the effort we put into customer service will remain to be what it has always been - quick, courteous and usually coupled with a follow-up to ensure you have anything you need delivered or worked out so you can continue to use the site.
Honestly, we would love to narrow down the search field in some way to help you focus on your location, but since you live where you live, chances are you are going to be able to instantly spot anyone you normally see online or know exactly who you want to look up, perhaps even yourself. We currently and will always continue to take into consideration any comment or suggestion, good or bad, you give us and help create a site that works in your best interest. Again, as mentioned throughout the site, we have decided at this time not to charge the community for using the site until such time as we need to, or to counteract that, we are always willing to accept donations as the technology that went into this site was very costly and the maintenance and upgrades are equally as costly, but in the end, this site is for the protection and well being of the gay community and, again, until we have no other choice, we will continue to keep it free of charge. I registered online via my iPhone but no activation email was received. What happened?
There is a hyperlink block when using the iPhone and registering on our service. What will happen after you input your information is your account will sit on Pending status. We will see that and notice you have used an iPhone for activation and as such will send you out a blanket email asking you to reply to that email in order to activate your account. Once we receive your email, your account will be activated.
How do you control people rating themselves? Doesn’t that go against the whole idea of the website?
We check all the IP addresses and log them when someone logs in to create an account. We do this primarily because if a user posts a comments that is meant to be threatening in anyway, we can hand it over to the authorities if subpoenaed, otherwise no information will ever be given out. Anyone is allowed to rate themselves. If a user wishes to post a comment, they must be a Premium Member (unless we publish a promo code or this is during a free monthly trial period). Our hope is that users would not take this tactic but as we all know, it’s going to happen. Users are required to list their email address and cannot create multiple accounts using the same email address. If it is worth their time to use and create separate emails for each account they create and pay to post comments, thats their choice.

We have created a new feature which will help you in your search to find out when you are on your way to meet your next trick via cell phone to see if whether or not he is listed on our database before meeting him. Within the very near future, you will be able to simply text in your request.
